These are the twin 5"/38 Cal Gun Turrets as seen on a large number of USN ships during WWII and Post WWII.May be used on CL, CA and DD classes of ships.

This design represents the USN 5-inch turret Mark 32. The product is a sharp, precision model that shows access doors, the sighting hood, and other
details. It is the same design as the Paper Lab add-on turret, except for the gun barrels. Barrels in brass with open muzzles are sold separately and
are excellent. rnrnIt is accurate in scale. I am very pleased with these gun turrets (and the separate brass gun barrels) on my model of USS Juneau
(CLAA 119) and have ordered these turrets and barrels for another model. Weapons are primary features of model warships. rnrnYou can attach life rafts
(not provided in this product) to the sides. rnrnAs delivered in the USS SPOKANE kit, the turret matches with a base piece that matches a hole molded
in the kit deck. From the photo here, bases are not provided in this add-on set. rnrnA hole cast in the gun shield (the mantlet in RN terminology)
holds the gun barrel at low elevation. You would need to fill that hole to show the gun elevated at a high angle. I actually saw these turrets when in
service but do not remember the color of the shield (mantlet). Photographs show it as brass. rnrnThe turrets are cast on a resin wafer. I tried
sanding away the wafer and ruined the first turret. After that, I removed the wafer with a blade. That may say more about my level of skill than about
the product.
